[meno + phaedo] set

A paired edition of the two desktop fragrances created for the atelier of Setsuya KUROTAKI and released to mark the publication of his first book, みえないものをデザインする.

philosophie des instinkt takes ‘the philosophy of instinct’ as its point of departure, drawing on figures and dialogues associated with Plato. The set brings together two complementary states: concentration in anticipation of an idea, and release from the act of creation.

[meno]

Tonka bean, cinnamon and vanilla are layered with herbs, flowers and a trace of leather.

[phaedo]

Hiba and cedarwood establish an earthly balance, joined by vetiver and a clear lift of mint.
